How We Help

Heating Repair For Furnaces And Heat Pumps

Whether your home heats with a furnace or a heat pump, the goal is the same: steady, dependable warmth on the nights you need it. A licensed technician evaluates your system’s operation and condition, explains what’s happening in plain language, and shares photos or videos when helpful, so you can see what we see.

We’re a licensed heating and cooling contractor based in Mesa, and we answer seven days a week, 8:00am to 9:00pm. We can’t promise same-day service on every call, but we respond as quickly as scheduling allows, often same-day or next-day.

If your system is working but hasn’t been checked in a while, a furnace tune-up or heat pump maintenance visit in the fall is a good way to start the season.

Symptoms To Watch For

Common Heating Problems We Repair

Heating trouble usually shows up as one of a handful of symptoms. Each one can point to more than one cause, so we’ll identify the real cause before recommending a solution.

Heater Won’t Turn On

Can point to a thermostat setting, a tripped breaker, or an ignition or control concern. We check the simple things first and test before replacing anything.

Heater Blowing Cool Air

Can point to a thermostat setting, an airflow concern, or a refrigerant concern on a heat pump. We’ll confirm which before recommending a repair.

A Burning Smell That Lingers

A faint dusty smell on the first cold night is common. A smell that stays, or smells like plastic or wiring, is a reason to turn the system off and call.

Some Rooms Stay Cold

Uneven heat can point to airflow, ductwork, or equipment concerns. We’ll identify the real cause before recommending a solution.

Runs Constantly Or Cycles Often

A system that never seems to shut off, or turns on and off every few minutes, can point to a thermostat, airflow, or equipment concern.

Strange Noises

Banging, squealing, or rattling is worth checking early, before a small concern becomes a larger repair.

Higher Winter Electric Bills

Can point to a heat pump leaning on its backup electric heat, a clogged filter, or equipment that’s losing efficiency.

Thermostat Not Responding

Can point to thermostat power, settings, or wiring. We repair and replace thermostats, including smart thermostats.

Before You Call

What To Do If You Smell Gas Or Burning

If you smell gas or suspect a gas leak, leave the house first, then call. Don’t turn switches, thermostats, or appliance controls on or off on your way out. Once you’re outside, call 911 and your gas company. The City of Mesa gas emergency line is 480-644-4277, and Southwest Gas customers can call 877-860-6020.

If you smell burning plastic or wiring, turn the system off at the thermostat and call us. Don’t open the equipment, and avoid repeatedly resetting a tripped breaker.

Carbon monoxide alarms matter in homes with gas heat. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends carbon monoxide alarms on every level of your home and outside sleeping areas, and a professional inspection and service of your heating system every year.

Before the first cold night, set your thermostat to heat and check your air filter. ENERGY STAR recommends checking your filter once a month and cleaning or changing it as soon as it looks dirty, and it recommends a professional heating checkup every fall.

Is A Burning Smell From My Heater Dangerous?

A faint dusty smell the first time your heater runs for the season is usually dust burning off, and it should fade on its own. A smell that lingers, or smells like burning plastic or wiring, is different: turn the system off at the thermostat and call us so a technician can find the cause.

Upfront Pricing

What Affects Heating Repair Cost?

Heating repair pricing depends on what failed and what it takes to reach and fix it. We diagnose first, then walk you through the price before any work begins.

  1. The Part That Failed

A worn switch or sensor is a smaller repair than a motor or a major component. Our technician tells you which one it is before any work starts.

  2. Your System Type And Age

Furnaces and heat pumps use different parts, and older systems can take a little longer to source the right replacement for.

  3. Where The Equipment Sits

A unit in a hall closet is quicker to reach than one in the attic or on the roof, and access affects labor time.

  4. Warranty Status

If your equipment is still under a manufacturer warranty, some parts may be covered. We check before quoting.

  5. Scheduling

Our rate is the same on a weekend or after hours, so you don’t pay more for calling on a Saturday night.

  6. Financing For Larger Repairs

For larger repairs, we offer financing, subject to credit approval.

How Much Does Furnace Repair Cost?

We diagnose the problem first and walk you through the price before any work begins, because the cost comes down to what failed and what it takes to reach it. Our rate is the same on a weekend or after hours. For larger repairs, we offer financing, subject to credit approval.

Weighing Your Options

Should You Repair Or Replace Your Heating System?

The right solution isn’t the same for every home. We look at your system’s condition, its repair history, the part that failed, how well it keeps you comfortable, its warranty status, and how long you plan to stay, then walk you through the options.

Repair Usually Makes Sense When

  • The system is in good overall condition
  • The repair addresses a single concern
  • It’s still covered by a manufacturer warranty
  • It has kept your home comfortable until now

Replacement Is Worth Considering When

  • Repairs keep adding up season after season
  • Some rooms never get warm enough
  • A heat pump is past about 10 to 15 years old
  • You plan to stay and want better efficiency

When a replacement makes sense, we handle furnace replacement and install American Standard and Goodman systems, including SEER2-rated heat pumps, and can help you check whether a qualifying system is eligible for an SRP rebate. See AC installation and replacement, or read how to decide between repairing or replacing a system in Arizona.

How Long Does A Heat Pump Last In Arizona?

Air-source heat pumps in Arizona typically last about 10 to 15 years, because they run in cooling mode for most of the year. Age alone does not decide it, though. We look at the system’s condition, repair history and warranty status before recommending a repair or a replacement.

Step By Step

How A Heating Repair Visit Works

1. Tell Us What’s Happening

Call, text, or book online. Tell us what the system is doing, and we’ll get you on the schedule as quickly as we can, seven days a week.

2. Thorough Diagnosis

A licensed technician evaluates the system’s operation and condition, then clearly explains their observations and recommendations with photos of your system.

3. Clear Options And Pricing

We walk you through the available options and provide pricing for your approval before recommended work begins.

4. Careful Completion

We complete the approved work carefully, explain what was done, note anything worth monitoring, and leave the work area clean.
